 In NZ Residency

Yes. Provided you meet Immigration New Zealand’s eligibility standards.

Can I bring my partner over on a work visa?

Yes. You may apply for a ‘Partner of a New Zealander Work Visa’. Provided both you and your partner meet character conditions, your partner meets health requirements and you have good evidence of your relationship.

Can I bring my partner over on a residence visa?

Yes. You may apply for a ‘Partner of a New Zealander Residence Visa’. Again you will have to show that you your partner meet character conditions, your partner meets health requirements and you have good evidence of your relationship. Additionally you will need to show that you have been living together in a stable relationship.

If you are on-shore you will have to have lived together for more than 12 months.

If you are off-shore you will need to have lived together for 5 years.

I have sponsored a partner before? Can I do it again?

Sponsoring a partner in the past for any visa will affect any application to bring a further partner to New Zealand. Contact Idesi Legal for advice to see if you are still eligible.

I’m really unsure if I qualify for either visa. HELP!

If you are unsure – seek legal advice. Contact Idesi Legal and we will make an appointment to assist you.
