Everyone who comes to study in New Zealand from overseas must meet certain criteria. If you want to study full-time in New Zealand for more than three months, you’ll need a NZ student visa. Depending on your visa conditions, you may be also able to work up to 20 hours a week during the term and full-time over the holidays.

Below is a list of NZ student visa requirements and the documents you will need to supply to support your student visa application.
An offer of a study place from an approved education provider.
Evidence you have enough money to pay your study fees.
Proof of funds: NZ$15,000 per year, to cover your living expenses.
A copy of a return air ticket home, or proof of enough money to buy one.
If you’re under 18, you’ll need a guarantee of somewhere to stay.
You may also be asked to provide a medical certificate and chest x-ray, and a police certificate.
